On Calvin’s Birthday

On July 18, 1925, Music Trade Review published this account of the President’s birthday shared with 13-year old James G. Walker, Jr., of Swampscott, during Coolidge’s stay at the “Summer White House” that year. The President, especially after losing Calvin Jr. the previous year, always appreciated opportunities for kindness to the boys of other fathers.
